10 years with the Communicator code
I personally think that Firefox, that grew out of that code, has achieved more than Netscape ever could have in the browser market.

Netscape 9 beta 1 has been released
I've been away from my computer (due to my last school project and the extraordinary good weather) so my apologies for not posting this until now.
But, the Netscape 9 beta 1 browser has been released.
Netscape is based on Firefox as is my new favorite browser Flock (but believe me — wait for Flock 0.9).
Among other things the new Netscape includes:
- URL Correction
- News Menu and Sidebar
- In-browser voting
- Sidebar mini browser
- Extension Compatibility
You can download the new Netscape from browser.netscape.com.

Netscape 9: Open link in sidebar
I'm not moving away from Firefox, when Netscape 9 is released in the near future. But I'll be 100 percent sure to install it onto my hard drive.
One of the reasons is the open link in sidebar feature.
Looks nice.

Netscape 9 out in the upcoming months
The once so dominant Netscape web browser seems to be making another run for market penetration, this time with a closer combination between browser and the Digg-a-like Netscape.com and some preinstalled extensions.
Netscape 8, released May 2005, never quite got its claws into the market, which is dominated by Microsoft's Internet Explorer at a first place and Mozilla's Firefox a large amount of percent after.
Both Netscape 8 and 9 is based on Firefox, but that could mean trouble, as Firefox developer Ben Goodger once pointed out.
So is there room for Netscape 9? All though I would like to believe it, I don't…
