Microsoft collecting input on Internet Explorer 8
According to Mary Jo Foley, "Microsoft starts gathering IE 8 input".
On January 25, a number of testers reporting receiving e-mail from Microsoft, notifying them of the availability of an IE 8 survey on the Microsoft Connect tester Web site. The survey included a number of questions around RSS feeds, Favorites and browser navigation, in general.
Be sure to read Foley's post, looks like Microsoft is looking very much into feeds.

Why 100,000,000 IE7 installations maybe aren't that impressing
On the Internet Explorer blog Tony Chor — Group Program Manager at the Internet Explorer team — is writing that Internet Explorer 7 now has 100 million installations.
The only browser more popular than IE7 in the US is its predecessor, Internet Explorer 6.
Now, 100 million might seem impressive, but keep in mind that Microsoft made Internet Explorer a high priority update, which is bound to make the number of installations rise fast.
But hat aside, it somewhat surprises me, that the majority of Internet Explorer 6 users apparently has chosen NOT to upgrade their browser, even tough it's rated as a critical update.
If Internet Explorer 7 was that big a success, shouldn't there be more IE7 users than IE6 users? Or is there a lot of pirated Windows XP Service Pack 2's out there? Or have I got this all wrong?
And are there any numbers on the usage and/or number of installations of the various Firefox versions?

Micosoft is running post IE7 builds
SoftPedia is reporting that Microsoft is running post Internet Explorer 7 builds on the inside.
However, Bruce Morgain — Software Development Manager, IE Team and responsible with leading the Vista RSS
platform — states in a thread at Microsoft's Channel 9 that the rumours are somewhat exaggerated:
While they're not flat out wrong, they're not right, either. That's because they don't really say anything at all. Some of these writers should run for public office - they know how to go on and on without actually saying a word, but leaving you thinking they did. I had a manager like that once, but I digress..
We have post-IE7 daily builds running, of course, because that's part of our engineering processes. We're working on improving those processes as well as doing planning for the next version. So sure, people have builds. That's no big thing - certainly nothing anyone would label "an alpha".
According to SoftPedia Internet Explorer 8 »will be showcased at MIX 07, at the Venitian Hotel in Las Vegas between April 30 and May 2« — I for one can't wait to see screenshots and feature lists!

InternetExplorer8.net - your guide to Microsoft's next browser
As I've posted earlier, Microsoft is working on Internet Explorer 8.
Today I just came across InternetExplorer8.net which labels itself as »Your Guide to Microsoft's Next Browser«.
From what I can make of it, it appears to be a site that lists the latest news stories and/or blog posts regarding Internet Explorer 8.
Below is a poll, a wish list for IE8 and at the bottom of the page there are comments posted about the site and Internet Explorer 8.

Microsoft is working on Internet Explorer 8
The success of Firefox certainly got Microsoft's Internet Explorer team moving!
ActiveWin.com is reporting that the work on Internet Explorer 8 has begun.
Internet Explorer 8 will, according to the plans, be ready in 18-24 months, and the team is working on the new release instead of a service pack.
If Internet Explorer is going to be as vulnerable and as constantly attacked as Internet Explorer 6 they'll hopefully release some security fixes.
One might fear that Internet Explorer 8 will be a "Vista only" feature, to get people to move to Microsoft's new flag ship.

Internet Explorer 7 DK is here
Microsoft has released a Danish version of Internet Explorer 7.
Maybe now we can get rid of Internet Explorer 6 for good.
Nice to see that the pressure from Firefox and other browsers got the IE team back together on track… anyone who as tried to view a website in IE7/Firefox/any other browser and IE6 will be pleased, that IE6 is now moving out.
