Now with reCAPTCHA
As you may or may not know this blog is under what appears to be constant attack from spam comments. Some get caught by Akismet, others don't.
That's why I'm trying a plugin, WP-reCAPTCHA, let's all hope it works :-)

How readable is your blog?
I just saw this rather funny thing at Social Media. Just paste your blog's url into the text field and have it figure out, what level you blog is at. Have fun :-)

WordPress 2.3.2 is out
In case you haven't noticed: WordPress 2.3.2 is out.
So far, no new features (except that you can specify your own error page to display, when you're having database problems), but some security and bug fixes instead. Read more at the above link.
You can download WordPress at wordpress.org/download.
PS: WordPress [Wikipedia] is a state of the art piece of open source blogging software, and WordPress is also the platform driving this blog and many others.
Danish WordPress
I've also been told that a Danish translation of the new WordPress version is on its way. Once it's ready you can get it from wordpress.dk/download.

Introducing: Math
Somehow a ton of spam comments made their way past Akismet, making me hate freakin' spammers even more!
So, as a result of this, you now have to answer a simple math question, whenever you want to leave a comment. I hope this is not a problem, if it really pisses you off, drop me a line ;-)
PS: I chose the Challenge plugin for WordPress.

Now proudly powered by WordPress 2.3
Phew. I'm done upgrading to WordPress 2.3.
As I pointed out a moment ago, Ultimate Tag Warrior had to go — after a tip from mister WordPress.dk, René.
One of the reasons was, that categories kept showing up in my WordPress administration even though I had deleted them and I got some nasty errors saying that certain categories did not exist.
So I removed the Ultimate Tag Warrior — who's ultimate now eh? ;-) — and deleted the categories and now it's working.
The integrated tagging structure in WordPress seems to be working like a glove. It's totally anarchy and I can't manage the tags anywhere. Guess that's how it has to be with tags ;-)
Happy upgrading to those of you who haven't yet made the jump!

If you're planning on using the tag structure in WordPress 2.3 then this is a must read! If you know where to look you're done in no time.

Ultimate Tag Warrior: Removed
Apparently Ultimate Tag Warrior doesn't work with WordPress 2.3. Therefore it has now been substituted by the new tagging structure in WordPress 2.3.

Note: Updating to WordPress 2.3
As some of you may have noticed, WordPress 2.3 is out.
I'll be making the update in the very near future. Included in WP 2.3 is a tagging structure, so I'll try to convert my tags into the new tagging system and limit my category system.
Hope for the best — but expect complete utter failure :-)
So, if the blog starts acting funny, that's why.

Blog should now load faster (RIP GeoPress)
I noticed that this blog took some time to load, and I noticed that the waiting time was due to the fact, that my blog was fetching content from maps.google.com.
I figured out that it had to be because of the GeoPress plugin I have installed on this WordPress blog, which allows me to geotag my posts using Google Maps.
So I deactivated the plugin, and now the blog loads faster. The funny thing is, that I never got around to use the GeoPress plugin, so it remains a mystery — or something similar — why it tried to connect to the Google Maps site…

No more del.icio.us posts
I've decided to post no my del.icio.us-posts to my blog. Here are the reasons:
- Right now it just keeps failing and no posts get through. I have no idea what happened
- I bookmark a lot of stuff that isn't new media and/or it related and that messes up this blog
- Some of the bookmarks are Danish which makes no sense to my international readers
