Twitter.dk: A domain dispute underway?

Mar 21st, 2007 @ 17:41

Okay, so I'm on Twitter. And as I signed up with my cell phone number, I saw that the people behind Twitter is working on a way to make the sms price be national instead of, as it is now, the price of sending an sms message to the UK.

So I decided to see if perhaps they had bought Twitter.dk.

And it has been registered. But not by the Twitter folks, it seems:

Domænenavn: twitter.dk
DNS: twitter.dk

Navneservere:

(From a whois lookup at DK-hostmaster)

Now, there's nothing wrong with having the domain name Twister.dk, if you had it years ago, before the Twitter service emerged. But Twitter.dk was registered, as you can read in the data above, on March the 18th 2007. That's like 3 days ago. That could, and I repeat COULD, seem like domain pirating, it may not be.

Then again, I don't know if Slave InterWeb SL is in anyway related to Twitter - let's hope that they are.

Otherwise: If you Twitter folks wanna complain, this is where you do it - apparently the site is only available in Danish… utilfreds.jpg

Update 1:
Just Googled "Slave Interweb", and I found out, that they're apparently also Danish, or somewhat connected do Denmark.

Slave InterWeb SL is a domain pirat I think.

They have other domains registred without any content.

http://www.minblog.dk is also without, registered by DanDomain to Slave InterWeb SL.
